Below is a handy guide to our different plant sizes. Please note that images are for size reference only and foliage may vary depending on variety.
 | Vegetable Plants Grown by experienced nurserymen, our young vegetable plants will be delivered at the right time for growing in their final position on your plot. Hand graded and packed, they are sent directly from the nursery and fully hardened off before despatch. All varieties are supplied with easy-to-follow growing hints and instructions. |
 | Garden Ready Plants Our garden ready plants are provided already 'hardened off' and can be planted directly outside into their final planting positions. Measuring approximately 10-12cm in height, they are quick to establish and come into flower. Our spring/summer range of garden ready plants are despatched from early June and our autumn range of garden ready plants are despatched from early-October |
 | Standard plugs Supplied as well-rooted seedlings measuring approximately 5cm in height and ready for immediate potting on into trays or pots and placed somewhere warm and light and allowed to grow on before planting outside in late May. Standard plugs are despatched from early April. |
 | 9cm potted plants Supplied with strong root systems are ready to be planted straight out into the garden. The foliage height will vary between individual varieties. 9cm potted plants are despatched from early April. |
 | 2L and 3L potted plants Supplied with strong root systems are ready to be planted straight out into the garden. The foliage height will vary between individual varieties. 2L and 3L potted plants are despatched from late May. |
 | Herb Plants Some of our herb plants will be sent out as plug plants and, though they may be left for a day or two to acclimatise to the new conditions, they should otherwise be potted on as soon as possible. If you find a fine mesh around the plugs, there is no need to remove this before potting as the roots can easily grow through it. You will receive well rooted plugs which are approximately 12cm/4.8in in height (depending on variety). |
 | Bulbs, corms and tubers All our bulbs and tubers are top grade, although please note that bulb size will vary by variety. Our dahlia tubers are field grown, hand-picked and graded to ensure the best possible quality. Bulbs, corms and tubers are despatched from late March (spring planting) and late September (autumn planting). |
 | Seed Potatoes All our potatoes are top grade and UK grown from ‘Safe Haven’ stocks which are certified as disease and virus free. Potatoes are delivered in 1.5kg bags (unless otherwise stated), each pack containing approx. 15-20 tubers. Despatch from late January (unless otherwise stated). |
 | Bare root plants Field grown plants, lifted and graded for quality and ready for immediate planting into their final positions outside or for potting up if the weather is frosty. Bare root plants are despatched from late October. |
